The Hippo waterslide is the highlight of this festival. The largest waterslide west of the Mississippi River is coming to Yuma!
Hippo waterslide spans 175 feet and is three stories tall. Surrounding the waterslide will be a variety of other slides and water activities. Also, for children 5 and under..there will be a special "Kiddie" area; same fun as the big kids...only geared for the little ones! "Zoo-per Duper, Summer Splash Bash" will take place at Yuma's own Gateway Park. Event will offer a unique opportunity to showcase Gateway Park and the Historic North End to visitors and local residents.
Advertising and marketing efforts will extend into Imperial Valley, Mexico and along the Colorado River up to Lake Havasu. Sponsorships are available and include complimentary tickets, a media & sponsor opening ride. Additionally, there will be exhibit space which will highlight local businesses, things to see and do, activities and visitor attractions.
Event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and promises to be fun for the whole family!!! Do not forget to lather up with sunscreen and bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, and beach toys to play in the sand.
Pre-sale tickets will be available at the Yuma Visitor's Center and Hilton Garden Inn; $40.00 for a family of four, or $20.00 per person. Get your tickets early, tickets at the gate will be $60.00 for a family of four and $30.00 per person, day of event.
Enjoy a Yuma “STAYCATION” with the entire family. Hilton Garden Inn Yuma is offering a "Summer Splash Bash" getaway! Rates start at $95.00+ tax and include tickets to the “Zoo-Per Duper, Summer Splash Bash” and includes a full breakfast for each registered guest. Each additional guest is $5.00 with a maximum 4 guests per room.

American Idol stars in Concert celebrate Motown at the Historic Yuma Theatre at 7pm. Four former American Idol finalists will perform Motown favorites.
The Idols include Michael Sarver, David Hernandez, Gina Glockson and Treneyce Cobbins.
The Idols will act as judges for a local singing show and then will perform live on stage the night of the 25th.
Sponsorships are available and include complimentary preferred seating, and meet & greet with the artists.

Calling all talent....Are you Yuma's Next Talent??????????
This is your opportunity to showcase your talent......American Idol contestants Michael Sarver, David Hernandez, Gina Glockson, and Treneyce Cobbins will be on hand at Alexander Ford to judge "Bring on the Yuma Talent".
Winner will be offered a PAID spot at one of the Yuma Visitor's Bureau 2011 premiere festivals, or events. We are searching for all types of entertainment, get creative: comedians, dancers, singers, magicians, jugglers, etc... If it's entertaining, Yuma wants to see it!
General Rules: Interested parties must submit application, along with U-tube link of demonstrated talent by September 02, 2010. Entries will be screened upon submittal and the best 20 will be chosen for judging by American Idol contestants Michael Sarver, David Hernandez, Gina Glockson, and Treneyce Cobbins.
If your talent is one of the “TOP 20” screened acts, you will be expected to get on stage, set-up, perform and WOW the judges in two minutes! Props that will be provided are: Stage, 4 wireless mics and a CD player. Judging will take place at Alexander Ford on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Time to be determined

In conjunction with United Way of Yuma County, we are hiring a San Diego based murder mystery production company to write a story based loosely on the inmates, wardens and characters that played a role in the prison's history.
The interactive dinner show will benefit United Way and help promote the Yuma Territorial Prison.
Sponsorships will include tickets to the event, inclusion in our program, and the option of playing a character in the story. This event also offers media (regional and local) opportunities.

2010 Dorothy Young Memorial, Electric Light Parade theme is..."Storybook Express" - choose your favorite story and bring it to life on your parade float!
Over one-hundred floats take part in this evening light parade that winds through the Historic North End! Electric light parade will end in the parking lot of the Pivot Point Conference Center and Hilton Garden Inn. The Dorothy Young Memorial Electric Light Parade is named in honor of its founder, Dorothy Young.
Parade spectators will have the opportunity to see the floats up close before heading to the Quartermaster Depot for the unveiling of Yuma's first "Christmas Village and Festival of Lights".

Christmas Village and Ice Skating rink at the Quartermaster Depot....
The Quartermaster Depot is being turned into a magical Christmas Village, complete with playhouses depicting various stores; a gingerbread house; Santa’s Workshop; historic Yuma homes and attractions using thousands of lights!
The Ice Skating rink will be located in the heart of the Village and will offer thousands of local residents and visitors the opportunity to learn how to ice skate. A complete calendar of events at this venue will include skating activities and lessons....as well as, pageants, concerts and holiday related classes.
Christmas Village will debut Friday, December 03, 2010...immediately following the 2010, Dorothy Young Memorial, Electric Light Parade. Christmas Village will be open from December 3-24, 2010.

The World Famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a family-oriented blend of the unique comedy and juggling skills of Gregory Popovich, and the extraordinary talents of his performing pets. Each of the show's 15 cats and 10 dogs were once strays, rescued from animal shelters. Now, they love to show off onstage - by performing a variety of stunts and skits!
