2023 Giving Tuesday - Support Yuma's Youth Through Live History Adventures Field Trips Category: Events
We’ve had a day for giving thanks…now we have a day for giving back. Today, November 28th, 2023, we recognize Giving Tuesday – a day to celebrate a culture of giving. It’s a day when communities, charities, businesses, and individuals come together to transform the way we think, talk about, and participate in the spirit of giving.
This Giving Tuesday, we are kicking off our annual month-long campaign to raise $75,000 to support Yuma’s youth. For the last three years, the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area (YCNHA) has received grant funding from the National Park Foundation to develop and provide all-expenses paid Yuma Live History Adventure field trips to Yuma County 3rd and 4th grade students, but this grant funding will not last forever! We need the community’s help to allow us to continue offering this program to Yuma County’s largely Title I schools, who, without this funding would likely not be able to participate.
The Yuma Live History Adventure field trip program gets kids out of the classroom to experience nature and learn about Yuma’s local history by engaging in fun, interactive activities while visiting the Yuma East Wetlands, the Yuma Territorial Prison and the Colorado River State Historic Park.
Please consider supporting this program and Yuma’s youth by donating today! Every $25 donation supports one child. $1,000 supports a whole class! $2,500 supports a school! Every donation makes a difference!

Thank you in advance for your generous support!
